Highlight videos in your galleries

Put highlight reels and clips right next to the photos in any gallery. Your clients watch them in the gallery -- no separate link, no YouTube.

Available on Solo, Pro, Studio, and Agency plans. Every one of those plans includes 60 free minutes of stored video. Need more? Add 300 minutes for $9.99/mo under Plan & Billing.

Uploading a video

  1. Open the galleryGo to the gallery's Media tab and find the Highlight videos panel.
  2. Pick an album (optional)Use "Put new videos in an album" if the video belongs in one, such as a "Video Highlights" album.
  3. Choose or drag in the fileMP4, MOV, M4V, WebM or MKV, up to 4GB and 30 minutes long. You'll see a progress bar while it uploads.
  4. Wait for processingAfter the upload, the video is processed for smooth playback on phones and computers -- usually a minute or two. It shows "Processing" until then, and appears in your client's gallery as soon as it's ready.
Big files upload in pieces, so if your connection drops partway through (say, on stadium Wi-Fi), the upload picks up where it left off instead of starting over.

Albums and album covers

Every video has an album dropdown -- change it any time to move the video into a different album, or out of all albums. The star button on a video uses that video's picture as its album's cover, which is handy for an album that only has videos in it. If you don't pick one, an all-video album shows its first video's picture automatically.

What your clients see

Videos appear in a Videos strip at the top of the gallery and play in the same full-screen viewer as the photos. They follow the gallery's own privacy: if the gallery has a password or asks for an email first, the videos stay private until a visitor gets past that -- and a video in a password-protected album needs that album's password too.

Selling videos

You can sell a video as a download. Anyone who can open the gallery can still watch the whole video there; buying it gets them the video file (MP4) to keep.

Your client adds a video to their cart from the video itself or from the full-screen viewer, and it goes through the same checkout as photos. Your tax setting and whole-cart discounts apply to videos; discounts tied to a particular photo item or category don't. After paying, their order page -- linked from their receipt email -- has a Download video link. The first download of a longer video can take a few minutes to get ready; the page waits and starts the download on its own.

Each video tile shows how many times it has sold. Video sales appear on your Orders page like any other order, and every download is recorded on your Downloads page.

If you delete a video someone bought, their download link stops working and tells them to contact you -- so keep purchased videos in the gallery.

How video minutes work

Minutes are the total length of the videos you keep stored, not how many times they're watched. Your usage shows in each gallery's Highlight videos panel. Deleting a video gives its minutes back. If an upload would go over your minutes, you'll see a clear message before anything uploads.
