AI Auto Culling
Cull thousands of frames faster. Keep the final decision yours.
High-volume photography creates a familiar problem: you shoot the action, come home with thousands of images, and then have to find the frames that should never have made it into the final gallery.
Image Depot helps you get through that process faster.
What it looks for
AI Auto Culling automatically reviews every uploaded photograph and flags two common problems:
- Possibly blurry. Images that appear noticeably softer or less sharp than the surrounding photographs in that gallery are flagged for review.
- Near-duplicates. Images that are visually almost identical to another photograph in the gallery are flagged -- built for exactly the burst-mode situation where you captured five, ten, or more nearly identical frames of the same play but only need one or two.
Flagged photographs get a badge directly in the image grid, and a Review flagged filter lets you jump straight to the photographs that need your attention.
Nothing gets deleted automatically
This is important: Image Depot never makes the final culling decision for you.
A computer can identify a photograph that appears blurry. It can't always understand that the blur was intentional. That matters in sports photography -- a panning shot, a motion-blurred action image, or an unusual moment may be exactly the photograph you want to keep.
Image Depot flags photographs for review. You decide what stays and what goes. Nothing is ever deleted automatically -- that's not a disclaimer, that's the design.
Built for high-volume sports photography
AI Auto Culling was designed around the way professional sports, school, and event photographers actually work:
- Shoot thousands of framesBurst mode, continuous shooting, an entire tournament in one card.
- Upload the batchDrag in the whole shoot -- one event or a thousand-photo tournament batch.
- Image Depot flags what deserves a closer lookPossibly-blurry and near-duplicate frames get badged automatically as the upload processes.
- Review the flagged imagesJump straight to just the flagged photos with the Review flagged filter instead of scrolling the whole gallery.
- Make your final selections and move onDelete what you don't want, keep what you do -- your call, start to finish.
Instead of manually searching an entire gallery for soft frames and repetitive bursts, Image Depot gives you a focused starting point.
Real computer vision. No magic claims.
We believe in being straightforward about what happens behind the scenes.
Image Depot uses computer-vision analysis to evaluate image sharpness and identify visually similar photographs. Sharpness analysis uses image-edge information; near-duplicate detection uses a visual fingerprint of each photo to identify ones that are extremely similar.
We don't claim the system was trained on millions of photographs, or that it understands a photograph the way a human photographer does. It's a review tool, not a replacement for professional judgment.
You stay in control
AI Auto Culling is opt-in at the studio level. Turn it on or off from Account Settings → AI Photo Review. When enabled, photographs are analyzed as they're uploaded and flagged within the gallery for review -- nothing changes for a studio that leaves it off.
Your photographs. Your standards. Your final decision.
