How to switch to Image Depot

Image Depot never logs into your old platform or asks for its password -- there's no safe way for a third-party tool to do that, and we're not going to ask you to hand over another company's credentials. Instead, the Studio Migration Wizard (near the bottom of your sidebar) reads the export ZIP you download from your own account and builds real galleries from it automatically, entirely in your browser. The steps below cover that, plus what the automated import can't do: rebuilding your price sheet and reconnecting payments.

1. Download your originals from your current platform

Most gallery platforms let you bulk-download all your photos, or a whole gallery's full-resolution originals, as one ZIP file from your account settings -- check your current platform's export or download option.

2. Let Image Depot build your galleries automatically

Use the Studio Migration Wizard in your sidebar and point it at that ZIP -- see importing from ShootProof, Zenfolio, or anywhere else for the full walkthrough. It turns your folder structure into real galleries (and nested folders into albums) and uploads everything with a live progress bar, resumable if you need to stop partway through. There's no photo-count ceiling on any Image Depot plan -- a real storage quota instead (25GB on Starter, up to 1TB on Agency), so a big back-catalog never hits an arbitrary photo limit.

If your export doesn't have a clean folder-per-event structure, or you'd rather build things by hand, you can always create a gallery and upload directly instead -- or bulk-create a whole batch at once with Tournaments if you shoot high-volume sports or events.

3. Rebuild your price sheet and reconnect payments

Recreate your digital and print products, then connect your own Stripe account (PayPal coming soon) so client purchases settle directly to your bank -- Image Depot never holds the money. See building a price sheet and connecting Stripe.

4. Point clients at your new links

A new gallery gets its own real link immediately. If continuity matters for existing clients, a portfolio website on your own custom domain (Solo plan and up) means the same web address can carry over even though the platform behind it changed.

Why this should be the last time

Every Image Depot plan, including Free, offers an export of every original photo, available on demand. Whatever happens with pricing, features, or your own business down the road, moving your photos back out is never something you have to negotiate for.
